Tora Khrobostova is a queer Russian American illustrator based in Los Angeles, California specializing in Background Design for TV animation, narrative illustrations, and risograph prints. Taking inspiration from folk stories of various regions of Russia, she enjoys exploring themes of identity, politics, and human connection to nature. In her free time, she likes to research about history, linguistics, and folk art and practice her rusty Russian, German, and Japanese language skills.
Currently she is doing background pencil and ink freelance work for an upcoming graphic novel from Johnnie Christmas and working on a pitch for a project based on folk tales from Russia and Central Asia.
